Binoculars

Binoculars is made from phosphorite stones found along the Dniester during the artist's military service.

Formed millions of years ago in an ancient sea, the stones preserve traces of a much deeper time. Each element is hand-cut and connected by a rotating copper axis.

Candlelight passes through the centre, bringing movement and light to material that was once part of the sea.

Time becomes matter. Matter remembers.
